Regional Meet, Youth Meet and AGM 2012

We were unfortunate to lose so many memorable camping friends this year, with a few names mentioned at the AGM, however at the opening ceremony a special presentation was given to remember Clarance Wright who recently passed away very unexpectedly. Daughter Carol was asked to receive a specially engraved carriage clock in his memory.

Congratulations to Shropshire DA for winning the Newsletter Trophy

Congratulations to Derbyshire DA for winning the Website Trophy.

Thanks goes to Alan Slater (Regional Chairman) and Keith Jackson(Past Camping and Caravanning Club Chairman) for presenting the above DA's with their Trophies.
There was no Under 11's sports held this year as there was only a small amount of children in attendance, however we did hold the novelty volleyball competition, which attracted a small but willing crowd of participants who thoroughly enjoyed themselves, including the past chairman (who hasn't played volleyball for over 40 years!) All participants recieved a medal for their galiant efforts. The most memorable award was asked to be presented by Region President, Barry Rook, to present and that was to Keith Jackson, Past Club Chairman, for his participation.
Thank you to those youth members who attended and participated in the Rex Taylor competition. The results were as follows:
Runner up for Derbyshire DA : Elizabeth Slater
Winner for Staffordshire DA : Laura Myatt
This is Laura's 3rd year in a row at winning the Rex Taylor trophy for Staffordshire DA so they should be very proud of her.

Nadia Davies was presented with her Certificate of Honour by Keith Jackson. Paul and Racheal Slater were also awarded with the Chairman's Cup for their continued efforts and hard work to bring the youth together. There is still some way to go but the youth for the North Central Region is growing.
We also saw John and Audrey Amson retire from camping and from the Regional Council as Vice President, we wish them all the best for the future.
Saturday afternoon saw the DA's put together table tops with items for sale or games. Derbyshire DA put on some fun games of which the results were given out at the evening get together. With Elizabeth Slater wining for the children and Racheal Slater winning for the adults. One of the games provided was to guess the amount of money in a small jar. The amount was 4.41 and the person who got the closest was Pauline Rook with 4.38. Thank you to all those who took part.
It was also Paul and Racheal's Wedding Anniversary. They celebrate 11 years of marriage. Congratulations to them both.
Will you be the next one to try to break Laura's winning record??? then come along to the next years Regional Meet at Ukrainian Centre - hosted by Derbyshire DA.
